From 2018, the M140i was built with a gasoline particulate filter (GPF/OPF), which noticeably muffles the exhaust note. This resonated (quieter) system replaces everything after the filter, restoring character while remaining refined for everyday driving.

Please note: For OPF/GPF-equipped models only. The factory particulate filter is retained.
